Concept Crosswalks

These .md files are generated, not hand-edited. Per ADR-0024, the validated YAML record under data/crosswalks/<slug>/<slug>.yaml is the source of truth. To change a reviewed concept: edit its YAML, then regenerate this Markdown with python3 scripts/crosswalk-yaml-to-md.py --write <slug> (and the TSV/Turtle exports with python3 scripts/crosswalk-to-sssom-tsv.py and python3 scripts/sssom-tsv-to-ttl.py). A hand-edit made directly here will be silently overwritten the next time the file is regenerated.

One file per concept, each comparing all 8 source ontologies in scope (BFO, DOLCE, SUMO, UFO, GFO, YAMATO, TUpper, GUM — see ADR-0015) against directly-verified primary sources. All 26 reviewed concepts — the original 8 plus all 9 of the 0.2.0 batch (ADR-0018) plus disposition-capacity.md, mind-conscious-being-agent.md, ontological-level-stratum.md, change.md, list-sequence.md, continuous-discrete.md, modality.md, non-physical-social-object.md, and symbol-sign-representation.md — are reviewed. Per ADR-0021, all 26 qualify for XwkOnt's core module (data/ontology/core.ttl); as of session-060 (2026-07-08), all 26 have been placed — situation-state-of-affairs.md, the last one, resolved once the external review's flagged three-way sense split was found to already be disentangled within the crosswalk's own reviewed content (see its own Scope Note and Uncertainty). ontological-level-stratum.md is the 20th reviewed concept, the third reviewed concept of the 0.3.0 batch (ADR-0018's single-source rung) — a single-source (GFO-only) concept once a Codex draft claim that UFO's UFO-A/UFO-B/UFO-C partition was a second source was independently checked and resolved against on direct evidence (the source paper never uses stratification vocabulary, and the partition's substance duplicates continuant-occurrent.md/role.md content already); this candidate was already admitted to the batch on single-source terms, so that finding confirmed rather than changed the batch's original scope. change.md is the 21st reviewed concept, the fourth reviewed concept of the 0.3.0 batch — a two-source (GFO, SUMO) concept scoped specifically around the extended-process reading of GFO Change left unmapped by event.md's existing Instantaneous_change correspondence, plus SUMO's independently-reified InternalChange family (found via candidate-concepts.md's own raw inventory, not the original TODO.md seed, which had missed it). list-sequence.md is the 22nd reviewed concept, the fifth reviewed concept of the 0.3.0 batch — a two-source (SUMO, GUM) concept where a Codex draft's single-source (SUMO-only) framing was corrected during independent verification: GUM's OrderedObject/OrderedSet was found directly against GUM-31.owl, a source the draft had not checked at all, and candidate-concepts.md's own rows for those two classes were retagged from unrelated buckets (Mereology/Parthood/Aggregate, Universal/Type) to List / Sequence. continuous-discrete.md is the 23rd reviewed concept, the sixth reviewed concept of the 0.3.0 batch — a single-source (GFO-only) concept covering GFO's own reified Continuous/Discrete split over Individual (with Discrete_presential as the presential-side branch), scoped to avoid re-deriving axioms already cited in passing by quantity-amount-of-matter.md, object.md, and continuant-occurrent.md. Independent review found and corrected a citation defect in the Codex draft (a quote misattributed to SUMO that actually belongs to TUpper) and downgraded an unsubstantiated UFO re-access claim to an open verification gap, consistent with the same-day UFO access block list-sequence.md's review hit. modality.md is the 24th reviewed concept, the seventh reviewed concept of the 0.3.0 batch — a single-source (GUM-only) concept covering GUM's own reified ModalQuality branch (Conditional/NonConditional/NonVolitional/Volitional/Necessity/Possibility) and its ascription relation ModalPropertyAscription, scoped to avoid re-deriving quality.md's SimpleQuality finding and disposition-capacity.md's GeneralPossibility/Ability findings. Independent review confirmed two of the Codex draft's UFO quotations against a genuine (if one-day-stale) full-paper extraction after this session's own live DOI/mirror fetch hit the same recurring HTTP 403 block continuous-discrete.md/list-sequence.md hit, and corrected one factual error (GUM's PropertyAscription superclass does not itself disjoin ModalPropertyAscription from its siblings — the correct axiom is declared reciprocally on LogicalPropertyAscription's own block). non-physical-social-object.md is the 25th reviewed concept, the eighth reviewed concept of the 0.3.0 batch — a two-source (DOLCE, UFO) concept covering DOLCE's base-module non-physical-endurant/non-physical-object branch, scoped against three already-reviewed DOLCE-family crosswalks (situation-state-of-affairs.md, role.md, information-artifact.md) that touch adjacent DOLCE "social object" territory via different artifacts, none of which cite core DOLCE-Lite.owl itself for this material. Independent review found and corrected three citation-fidelity defects in the Codex draft (a truncated DOLCE quotation, a wrong BFO IRI, a SUMO paraphrase mislabeled as a direct quotation) and found a genuine second source the draft missed entirely: UFO's paper uses the identical phrase "non-physical endurants" informally, in a footnote with a worked example. symbol-sign-representation.md is the 26th reviewed concept, completing standalone-crosswalk work on all 10 of the 0.3.0 batch's originally-identified candidates — a two-source (GFO, GUM) concept covering the sign-vehicle/symbolization layer, narrowed in earlier sessions to exclude YAMATO's representing thing and SUMO's SymbolicString/Icon/LinguisticExpression as duplicative of information-artifact.md's own already-cited evidence, while retaining GFO's Symbol_structure and GUM's Symbolization/Signification/NameOf/NameRelation since information-artifact.md itself considered and rejected them only for being the wrong kind (type-side category; relation-type), not as already-covered content. Independent re-verification against all 8 primary sources found and corrected two truncated GUM quotations (Symbolization, Signification) and restored a dropped second sentence on NameEvent; no other defects found. core.ttl placement for this concept was resolved session-059 (2026-07-08) as class-plus-relation-family — xwkont-core:SymbolSignRepresentation (a class under xwkont-core:Universal, for GFO's type-side evidence) plus a new xwkont-core:symbolizes/symbolizedBy relation pair (for GUM's relation-type evidence) — completing core.ttl placement for all ten 0.3.0-batch concepts. New crosswalks follow TEMPLATE.md and the structure/status conventions in docs/INFORMATION_ARCHITECTURE.md and docs/methodology/crosswalk-methodology.md.
